Kingsley & Co – Consignment Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern the consignment of items through Kingsley & Co (“we”, “our”, or “us”) by any individual or entity (“you” or “the Client”) wishing to sell luxury items via our platform and retail network.

1. Eligibility

  • Items must have a minimum estimated retail value of £3,000.

  • Accepted items include, but are not limited to:

    • Fine jewellery

    • Luxury watches

    • Gold bars and coins

    • Rare collectibles and other investment-grade valuables

  • All items are subject to authentication and approval before being accepted for consignment.

2. Consignment Process

  1. Item Submission

You must submit clear photos, a detailed description, and any available documentation using our online form or in-store.

  1. Authentication & Valuation

Upon initial review, items must be brought in-store (or collected by secure courier) for physical inspection and authentication.

A recommended retail price will be discussed and agreed upon prior to listing.

  1. Listing Once approved, your item will be listed through our website, retail channels, and private buyer network.

  2. Ownership You retain full ownership of the item until it is sold and fully paid for by the buyer.

 

3. Listing Fees

  • Standard Listing: £175 + VAT (£210 incl. VAT)

  • Premium Listing: £320 + VAT (£384 incl. VAT)

Listing fees are refundable upon successful sale, as they are deducted from Kingsley & Co’s final commission.

 

4. Commission Structure

The following commission will be deducted from the final sale price:

Final Sale Price Commission
£3,000 – £9,999 15%
£10,000 – £24,999 12.5%
£25,000+ 10%

5. Advance Payments

  • Clients may request an interest-free advance payment after item authentication and acceptance.

  • Advance amounts are deducted from the Client’s final payout once the item is sold.

6. Sale Completion & Payment

  • Once an item is sold and payment has cleared, we will notify you and arrange for final item verification (if not already completed).

  • Payment will be made via bank transfer within 3–5 working days after the item has been authenticated and the buyer’s payment received in full.

 

7. Withdrawals & Cancellations

  • You may withdraw your item from consignment at any time prior to sale by providing written notice.

  • Listing fees are non-refundable if the item is voluntarily withdrawn or remains unsold beyond a reasonable marketing period (usually 90 days).

  • If a buyer has already committed to a purchase, withdrawal is not permitted unless agreed in writing.


8. Unsold Items

  • If your item remains unsold after 90 days, Kingsley & Co will contact you to discuss price adjustments, extended listing, or withdrawal.

  • There are no storage or unsold item fees.

 

9. Liability & Insurance

  • While the item remains in your possession, you are responsible for its safekeeping and insurance.

  • If the item is with us for authentication or viewing, Kingsley & Co will insure it for the agreed value.

10. Client Warranties

By submitting an item, you confirm that:

  • You are the legal owner of the item or are authorised to sell it.

  • The item is genuine, unencumbered, and free of third-party claims.

  • All information provided is accurate and honest to the best of your knowledge.

 

11. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
